Lens Maker

A lens is an optical device with perfect or approximate axial symmetry which transmits and refracts light, converging or diverging the beam. There is an equation that determines the situation and height of an image seen through a lens. It is called the lenmaker´s equation:

Snell's law

When an incidental beam reaches an interface between two media, it may produce a reflexion and/or a refraction. Snell's law determines the relationship between incidence and refraction angles. ni and nr are the indices of refraction.

If (ni/nr)·sin(incidenceAngle)>1, then there is no refraction. If (ni/nr)·sin(incidenceAngle)=1, then the incidenceAngle is the angle limit. The refraction should be at 90º.
